If your vehicle makes all of the horsepowers, then the South Bend Stage 4 EXTREME Clutch. This particular clutch has been designed for vehicles with horsepower modifications that surpass the limits of Stage 3 parameters. This clutch kit will include the Race Engineered pressure plate which has been modified to handle maximum plate load.
The disc included in this kit is a puck design with sprung and un-sprung options. The friction material options will include sintered iron as well as graphite impregnated ceramic. The engagement characteristics are considered to be abrupt which is normal for an aggressive clutch. With that said your hydraulic systems may need enhancing for proper clutch separation.
For those of you using this particular clutch for drag racing purposes, note that South Bend recommends a single mass steel SFI approved flywheel to be used for safety reasons.
Aside from the pressure plate and the disc, a new throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool will be included to make this clutch kit ready for installation.
STAGE 4 EXTREME:
This is a "build to order" clutch kit intended for cars with HP modifications exceeding the stage 3 parameters. The Race Engineered pressure plate is modified for maximum plate load. The discs are puck design with sprung and un-sprung options. Friction material options include Sintered Iron and Graphite Impregnated Ceramic. Engagement characteristics can be abrupt. Hydraulic systems may need enhancing for proper clutch separation. Single mass steel SFI approved flywheels are required for safety. Torque ratings are calculated at time of ordering.
